CTR (Click Through Rate) refers to the percentage of clicks that are obtained from a specific publication. We can estimate that a CTR begins to be adequate when it exceeds 1%. When the advertisement does not contain banners, this percentage must be above 2%. And if we talk about dynamic advertisements, the Click Through Rate should be placed above 5%. To calculate the Click Through Rate we have to divide the number of clicks by the number of impressions and multiply it by 100. The formula is as follows;
CTR = Clicks / Impressions) x 100.

Luckily in the world of digital marketing, everything can be measured, there are a variety of formulas for each of the results we want to obtain. These results will tell us if our work is well done and will achieve the objectives we had set for ourselves.

 

Types of CTR

Within the Click Through Rate we find two variants.

  • Organic CTR. This type of CTR is what we obtain through the natural visits that a website or blog collects. It will inform us if our descriptions and titles are attractive enough for users to click on our results.
  • Payment CTR. This other type of CTR is that we get through ads. It is the best way to know the effectiveness of our ads.

These basic tips will help us optimize our Click Through Rate and achieve better results.

  • Relevant Ads. We will use keywords appropriate to the product or service that we are going to advertise or promote.
  • Creation quality. We will have to be as creative as possible causing an attraction effect for the user without forgetting that it must be consistent with our brand. Using banners may be the best option since they are very visual and of course they are a call to action.
  • Specific advertisements. If our brand sells products that are very common in the market, we will have to be very specific in order to differentiate ourselves from others. If, for example, we sell coats, we can put the highest quality fur coats as keywords.

Uniting these concepts with other techniques such as offers, gifts or recommendations of our brand will attract the attention of users and increase our CTR.
