Facebook, the social networking giant, will allow companies to create Facebook ads within WhatsApp Business tools. That’s right, Zuckerberg’s new solution will allow businesses to create Facebook or Instagram ad promotions directly from within the WhatsApp Business tool. 

The idea is that these ads will eventually redirect users and consumers to the corporate profile on WhatsApp’s messaging platform. Through this new feature, companies will be able to generate ads without leaving WhatsApp.

The new feature aims to provide businesses or advertisers with greater convenience when managing advertising campaigns through this platform. 

Facebook says the new option will be launched soon.

A new way to create ads

Facebook wants to allow businesses on WhatsApp to create Facebook promotions in their WhatsApp business tools, and then link these promotions to their WhatsApp presence, leveraging the combined popularity of these two platforms.

A few years ago, brands could already create Facebook ads that linked to WhatsApp through Facebook Ads Manager. But now with this new feature, this entire process can be done from within the WhatsApp app itself quickly and easily, making it a significant step forward for the platform’s promotional tools.

According to Facebook, more than one million businesses are already using click ads for WhatsApp on Facebook, so it can be a powerful promotional opportunity for businesses on WhatsApp.

The process will make use of WhatsApp Business catalogs, in order to get product information for Facebook promotion.

How this new tool works

Thanks to this new functionality, businesses will be able to select an item from their catalog and quickly turn it into a Facebook or Instagram ad.

In addition, these ads will have a button that redirects users to the advertiser’s WhatsApp Business profile. The purpose of this strategy is to extend the reach of the promotion by cross-promoting activities with the wider community of other platforms in the Facebook family. 

Promoting advertising on Facebook will give businesses the opportunity to expand their reach nearly threefold. It may also mean that the WhatsApp community will gradually increase by generating interest through these ads.

This approach stems from the new trend in e-commerce, where social commerce is gaining traction.

Setting up a WhatsApp Business account

WhatsApp Business is free and currently only available for Android users. The app can be downloaded from Google Play.

After installing the app and agreeing to the terms, the user must enter a phone number for their account . It must be a phone number that can receive SMS messages. 

Next, the user must enter the name of the company. WhatsApp has some guidelines for creating a business name. 

Complete the company profile

Once a business account has been created, the user should tap the menu icon (with the three dots) in the upper right corner of the screen and select Settings. On the Settings page, the user should go to Business Settings and then select Profile .

When the business profile is complete, it should include information that is useful to customers and prospects, such as a business description, URL, email address and location.
