If we want to discover the title and author of a song, we have applications like Shazam. Simply listening to a few seconds of the melody immediately recognizes the theme and identifies all its information. But what happens if you don’t have the song at hand, if it’s just that tune you have in mind and that you can’t get out of your head. As much as you hum it, Shazam’s abilities have limits and he doesn’t work miracles.

And let’s face it. We have all found ourselves on more than one occasion humming a melody to a friend trying to identify the name of the song and the singer or group that is playing. And you can go crazy! Luckily, Google has created a new feature to help us.

For just over a month, all Android and iOS users have the ability to identify a song by humming its melody in the Google app or in the search widget.

How Google Song Search Works

Its operation is very simple. We just have to touch the Google microphone icon and click on “Search for song” and then hum it for 10-15 seconds. Of course, it is not necessary for us to enter the lyrics, the name of the artist or any other information about the song. It is enough to hum the melody.

The Google search engine will immediately show you the most likely options. And, the truth is that, without being a humming artist, he has a very high identification rate.

This new Google search function is available in 20 languages for Android (Spanish included) and only in English at the moment for iOS.

Awesome, right? What do you think about it?
