First step: Link your Facebook account with Instagram

The first thing we are going to do is link our account with its respective Facebook page.
We must bear in mind that if we have not previously created a Fan Page on Facebook, we will not be able to create ads on Instagram. Also, if the Fan Page logo does not match the Instagram name and logo, it will be reflected in the ad. Remember that a Fan Page can only have one associated Instagram account.
To link both accounts we must:

  1. Go to our page Settings and click on Instagram Ads in the left sidebar.
  2. Then we will click on Add an account and we will add the data of the Instagram account with its respective username and password.

Second step: Verify that we have access to Instagram Ads

Once we have made the link between the two applications through the Power Editor or the Ads Manager, we will verify that we have access to Instagram Ads. The way to make sure that both are linked is by entering the Ad Location option and see if it appears marked as Instagram news.

 

Third step: Create the Instagram Ads campaign

We will enter the Power Editor option, this will allow us to launch the ads that we have incorporated into Instagram in the Create Campaign option. Then we will insert a name that will have the power to change so that, once the campaign is defined, we will choose the appropriate Goal according to the stipulated advertisement. Therefore:

  1. We will go to Create Campaign.
  2. We will introduce a name that can be modified later.
  3. Finally we will choose the appropriate Object for our ad.

 

What are the main objectives of an Instagram Ads campaign

  • Create conversions. Its objective is to get users to take a specific action such as a purchase, download, subscriptions, etc.
  • Increase interactions. This objective is based on increasing the visibility of articles that have been published organically. This will achieve a greater reach and participation with users through publications.
  • Application download. This is a possibility aimed at advertisers who have a mobile application that is linked to their product or service.
  • Improvement of web traffic. By means of a button inserted in the advertisement that will redirect directly to the web page that has been selected, we will increase web traffic.

What points will determine the price of the campaign?

There are several points to take into account that will make the price of our campaign vary and will depend on:

  1. Sector. Depending on the sector to which we belong we will have more or less competition, if we have a lot of competition the price of our campaign will be more expensive.
  2. The ad template. We have two options to choose from, the CPC (Cost Per Click) and the CPM (Cost Per Impression). Normally companies pay between € 0.15 and € 1.1 each time a user clicks on their ads and € 5 for every thousand ad impressions.
  3. Country of origin of the target audience. Advertising aimed at the public residing in Spain is more expensive than that aimed at the Latin American public.
  4. Where we place our ads. The ads we publish in the stories will be cheaper than if we place them anywhere else.
  5. Gender. Ads for women will be more expensive than ads for men. The reason is that as a rule there are more possibilities for women to interact on the platform.
  6. Release dates. It is very important to take into account when we will launch our advertising campaign, it will not be the same price doing it on ordinary dates as on designated dates.
