The fastest and most secure payment method on the Internet is coming to Facebook and Instagram. Shop Pay, the online payment platform created by Shopify, will be available for these two social networks.

This is the first time Shop Pay has launched outside of Shopify’s own platform. This partnership represents the expansion of the payment technology into one of the most popular social networks around the world.

Facebook and Instagram have become one of the most important and widely used sales and marketing channels for e-commerce users. This new payment method aims to provide customers with a fast and secure shopping experience.

Shop Pay: A new way to pay online

Shop Pay, Shopify’s online payment method, has more than 40 million shoppers using Shop Pay regularly to make purchases at various online merchants.

Last year, this payment platform recorded 137 million transactions. Compared to other payment methods used by competitors, one of the main advantages of this payment system is the speed of the service. The user can also track shipments in detail.

Shop Pay: Facebook and Instagram integration

Through Facebook and Instagram integration, consumers will be able to find posts with product tags from sellers in the Shopify shop and then add them to the shopping cart without leaving the app.

After checkout, users will be able to choose “Shop Pay” as their preferred payment method, such as credit card, debit card or PayPal. Users will receive a purchase confirmation code on their mobile phone and then enter the code to complete the order without having to leave Facebook or Instagram.

After using Shop Pay for the first time, shoppers’ information will be saved for future purchases, speeding up the checkout process in a secure and simple way in the future.

In other words, Shop Pay acts as an online shopping accelerator, allowing you to use all payment methods such as PayPal, without having to include bank details at all times. Until now, Shop Pay’s scope has been limited to the Shopify environment to facilitate purchases in its shops.

A fast and secure payment method

Shop Pay is now available on Facebook as a fast and secure payment method. Users can also use the “order tracking” function and get carbon offsets for the delivery of their packages.

According to Shopify, one of the advantages of Shop Pay is its 70% speed increase, and the conversion rate is 1.72 times higher than a typical purchase. In addition, this payment method also includes tracking and order management. So far, tracking has recorded more than 430 million orders.

The full benefits of Shop Pay are:

  • Faster, more effective and secure payment method: Shop Pay payment on the Shopify platform is 70% faster than typical payment speed, and the conversion rate is 1.72 times higher. For merchants, this means fewer abandoned carts and a higher conversion rate.

For consumers, this means one-click checkout, which can remember and encrypt their important details, including billing and shipping information, which can save more time shopping and less time filling out forms.

  • Convenient order tracking and management: The global order tracking service allows consumers to track all important purchases, receive updates and manage orders by tracking 430 million orders across 450 billion miles.

  • Carbon offsetting for every delivery: Shop Pay is one of the first carbon neutral payment methods, and every order offsets 100% of the emissions delivered. 53% of consumers said they prefer green or sustainable products, and Shopify now allows more consumers visiting Facebook and Instagram to shop sustainably.
