A static website is a web page that is shown to the user by the browser as it is stored. They are informative in nature, showing stable content and with which we cannot interact, they do not require programming or use of a database.
The content in the static pages is not personalized to each user and is not usually updated frequently. And although multimedia content can be added, the source code will not change despite the actions carried out by the user.

To create a static web page it takes less time than in dynamic ones because it involves a much simpler process. They can be made with basic programming languages like HTML and the cost of making a page of this type is much cheaper. For brands or companies that start and do not have many financial means, they represent a great saving when creating a website.

Usually a static website is used to present offers or permanent information that does not need updating for a period of time. This type of invariable content is usually the history of the brand, the services they offer, products etc… If we want to update a static page we will need to understand the programming that was used to create it. If not, we will have to pay a designer.

The main disadvantage is that being a static page we will not be able to interact with customers and it could lead to a decrease in users. Being static, it does not allow access to customer data with which we are left without information that could be interesting for our brand.
