Link building is the technique of creating external links, placing them on authority websites and that these redirect the user to our website. It is a good method to improve the positioning of our site.
The more authority our website has, the more value it will have for Google, opting to be among the first positions in the search results.

Types of link building

There are two types of link building:

  1. Natural link building. This type of link occurs when other web pages mention ours as a reference and add a link to our site. They altruistically give us that link that redirects users to reach us. For this to happen we must be very good at creating top quality content and have other pages set and link us for reference. It can also be the case that we are linked thanks to well-known and very important pages.
  2. Strategic link building. It is not easy to become one of those relevant pages so to achieve a good positioning we will have to use strategic links. We will try to create external links manually to increase our page authority. We will have to be careful because Google can understand link patterns and we could be penalized.

Knowing all this we can already deduce the importance of link building to position ourselves in search engines. If we want to take advantage of link building we will have to be constant and create links continuously. Doing a lot for a few weeks and then not creating any again won’t give us the results we need to rank well.
